Personal Trainer, Level Jakarta

Sam has been a longtime player in the Southeast Asian fitness scene even before he decided to be a full time coach. He started and developed calisthenics and street workout communities across Indonesia as one of the pioneers since 2010. Four years later, he began his coaching career when he started blending aspects of conventional strength training with calisthenics as a way to bring fitness to a wider audience.

Since co-founding AKSI (Indonesia Calisthenics and Streetworkout Community) in 2016, Sam has been invited by several calisthenics communities locally as well as in Malaysia and Singapore to run workshops, competitions, and gatherings.

In 2020 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam co-founded Powerthenics, an online coaching platform, as an urgent answer to the closing of offline gyms at first but then continued to grow his client base beyond the pandemic, serving a diverse portfolio of clients from North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

From his accomplishments, he was chosen to be one of the educators for APKI (Indonesia Fitness Trainer Association) in formulating and delivering the Fitness Program Design curriculum.

At Level, Sam specializes in posture restoration with a strong technical approach to the human anatomy. Sam assesses and gives solution to clients for anything from big injury recovery to issues stemming from poor everyday biomechanics.

A fitness nerd at heart, Sam enjoys regularly updating his knowledge and sharing what he has to help more people enjoy a better quality of life.
